Second Vice President
Julie Quesenbery is a police officer with the Columbus Police Department in Columbus, Indiana. During her 12 years with CPD, she has served as a Field Training Officer, D.A.R.E. Instructor, Cadet Coordinator, and Homework/Tutoring Mentor. Currently, she serves as a School Resource Officer (SRO) for the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation.
As a School Resource Officer, Julie has co-developed corporation-wide procedures that teach students and teachers lifesaving behaviors in the event of an armed intruder. Julie is also an ALICE “Active Shooter Response” Instructor and regularly teaches school staff, students and community members how to survive an active shooter event. In addition, she co-authored a young women’s self-defense class called Situational Awareness For Everyday (S.A.F.E). To date, approximately 600 young women have taken part in the program. She is a Policing the Teen Brain instructor, and a large portion of her career has been dedicated to building meaningful, lasting relationships between law enforcement and youth. Julie holds an Associate’s of Science in Law Enforcement from Vincennes University and a Bachelor of Science in Criminology from Indiana State University.
Julie has a 5 year old son named Wyatt, and an 8 year old daughter named Halle. In her free time, she enjoys fishing and competing in triathlons and marathons.
Julie is also very excited to join the INSROA Board and she is looking forward to serving the amazing officers of this organization.
